The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.
Father,
You are Self-Sufficient and need nothing from Your own creation. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and everything in between. You sustain the universe by Your infinite power and are sovereign over all things.
I thank You for being the God who meets all my needs according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Thank You that I can come to You with my requests and trust that You will answer according to Your will. Your self-sufficiency helps me believe that You are able to do far more than all I can ask or imagine.
Help me to realize that You do not need me, and that I should follow Your commandments simply out of obedience, without pride for having done something good. It is I who need You, who depend on You in everything. Teach me to live a life that is a response to Your great love for me.
